ADS courses 2nd semester

Have you already figured out which skills you might want to develop further? From February till July we will offer again a wide range of courses to develop your communication skills, research skills, career management and much more. Check the ADS training offer on our website. In December, the course pages will be updated with the new dates of courses for the second semester. Registrations for the courses will open in SisA on Wednesday 8 January (morning). Save the date if you don't want to miss the opportunity to enrol for an ADS course!

Stress Management for Doctoral Researchers

Every doctoral project involves stress. Working independently on a long-term assignment, meeting deadlines, cooperating with colleagues and supervisors,... Maintaining a good psychological well-being throughout a doctoral project is not easy. In June or December, doctoral researchers can sign up for an individualised stress management programme, more specifically six individual counseling sessions. You can sign up from 1 December till 31 December for the January programme. Send an e-mail to isabelle.vloeberghs@uantwerpen.be and brecht.polspoel@uantwerpen.be.

YUFE Ideas Lab

Do you have an idea or project and do you want to take it to the next level?
YUFE Ideas Lab is a 6-month international programme where you can develop your idea into a real startup! The selected projects will work collaboratively online in several training sessions, on an international basis, generating networking and collaborative feedback.

In June, the finalist teams will meet in person in Madrid, to attend different events and activities and, finally, present their project to a panel of juries and investors. Deadline for application is 8 December 2024.

Language training

Want to learn a new language or boost your language skills? From January and February onwards you can again take group courses in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish at Linguapolis.
Do you prefer an online language course at your own pace? That's perfectly possible via Altissia.

To prepare the course offer for next semester according to the need of researchers, StatUa would like your opinion on the courses. It only takes 2 minutes to complete this survey!

KBC Winter School

The next edition of the KBC Winter School, entitled "Innovation as a common denominator for sustainability", will offer an inspiring program where a select group of PhD candidates (> 3rd year) and postdocs get an inside view of the corporate world, reflect on labour market challenges and innovations as driver for sustainability. Participants will also learn from career stories of PhD holders why they decided to transfer to the corporate world etc. Date: 19 & 20 February 2025. Deadline for registration: 8 December 2024.

Scienceville

Pitch your research for a scientific documentary!
Do you want your research to shine in a high-quality scientific documentary? As part of Docville, the annual international documentary festival, Scienceville is looking for combinations of enthusiastic researchers and directors. Submit your pitch before 17 January and perhaps UAntwerp will send in your application to participate in the selection process.

The Research Track

The Research Track is a short programme for researchers that teaches them how to create value from research. It is the perfect first step if you are interested in entrepreneurship as a researcher but have little or no prior knowledge. It's a hands-on programme that focusses on a direct application to your own research case. Deadline for subscription for the January edition is 16 December.

SAKURA Project call

The SAKURA project call ‘Gender equality in scientific and academic careers’ is an initiative of the Foundation for Future Generations, initiated and supported by the Sakura Fund. The aim of the call is to promote gender equality in scientific and academic careers. Selected projects will receive funding for 3 years and can be started in March 2025.

The deadline for application is 15 December 2024.
