C-MAT and FBE students enjoy Antwerp port flight

C-MAT and FBE students got the incredible opportunity to take a flight in a small plane. One of the goals of the flight was to fly over the port of Antwerp, where they had already made some land visits, now seeing it from above and gaining a new understanding of its importance. 

New Sustainability special issue from WCTRS SIGA2

Christa Sys, together with Alessio Tei, had a special issue published with Sustainability, with papers presented at the 2023 WCTR Conference in Montréal, within Special Interest Group A2 Maritime and Ports. The issue focuses on aspects of the collaborative and cooperative maritime ecosystem through different viewpoints—from deep-sea/shortsea shipping carriers to port and hinterland operators (road, rail, and inland navigation) and data planning aiming at optimizing the logistic corridor (e.g., synchromodality)

TPR students win TUC Rail 2024 Master thesis prize

Nice to see two TPR alumni, Arne De Meerleer and Bram Matthys, win the TUC RAIL Master thesis prize 2024, with their excellent joint thesis on 'Preventive maintenance of civil structures using historical damage analysis as risk mitigation for asset managers'. Well deserved!

TPR developed LaaS tool

Nice achievement by the Horizon Europe project GREEN-LOG, where TPR created a LaaS tool that is currently under real-life business testing. GREEN-LOG aims at enhanced consolidation by nudging consumers to choose delivery slots that are already popular in the neighborhood to enhance more sustainable delivery. The first parcels have already been delivered!

MLM students visit port of Antwerp

Maritime & logistics management students visited the port of Antwerp. Highlights included a tour of the Port House, a visit to Antwerp Euroterminal NV’s multipurpose terminal, and a presentation on the port’s strategic vision for the future by Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

FBE students visit Nike

Students from FBE's business engineering, applied economics and maritime & logistics management programs gained an exclusive “behind-the-scenes” view of Nike's automated warehouses. They engaged in workshops tackling real supply chain challenges, offering hands-on experience in a leading (automated) logistics hub.

C-MAT students visit 3 logistics companies in 1 day

7 November was a day full of impressions for our C-MAT Maritime and Air students , as they visited on the same day 3 interesting logistical and supply chain companies and top-notch warehouses: PostNL, Active Ants and Delhaize.

MRE students visit London

On 18-19 October, Ann Verhetsel took her students of the master real estate at the Antwerp Management School to London. Two inspiring days with special attention this year for Spitalfields and Hackney, two neighbourhoods in the shadow of the city that undergo important transitions.

MLM students enjoy port of Antwerp flight

Students master maritime & Logistics management students enjoyed a series of flights over the port of Antwerp. In collaboration with Jeugd en Luchtvaart and with financial support from the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, these flights provided students a unique opportunity to witness port operations from a whole new perspective.

Furthermore, Jia Zhang was nominated for FBE's Best Paper Award.

TPR contributed at UPU Innovation Forum 2024

Roel Gevaers, Stijn Michielsen and Serhat Yüksel participated in the Universal Postal Union's Postal Innovation Forum 2024! They discussed how to increase engagement with the next generation of postal customers, presenting insights from multiple perspectives, including omnichannel strategies.
