We invite you to a panel conversation with Mr. Ilan Baruch and Mr. Ashraf Ajrami on the war in Gaza and their perspectives on the day after. They will share their analysis of the current political developments in both Israel and Palestine and outline their long-term vision for a peaceful future. Afterwards, a Q&A with the audience will take place.
Mr. Baruch and Mr. Ajrami work within the international diplomatic community and civil society, and are vocal advocates for peace between Israel and Palestine, based on the two-state paradigm. Ambassador (ret.) Ilan Baruch is Chairperson of the Policy Working Group, a team of activists devoted to promoting a Middle East Peace Process. 10 years ago, Mr. Baruch resigned from the Israeli MFA on grounds of principle, after 36 years of diplomatic career. His last posting overseas was Ambassador of Israel to South Africa. Mr. Ashraf Ajrami is the Chairperson of the Damour Advocacy team, a Palestinian non-profit institution with offices in the West bank and Gaza. From 2007 till 2009, Mr. Ajrami was a minister in the Palestinian National Authority.
The event is aimed at students and staff members of the Faculty of Social Sciences. It will take place on Wednesday, February 21st, in the Promotiezaal Grauwzusters (building S), from 19h-21h. Registration is necessary: online registration form.
We look forward to an informative and respectful discussion.
