Submit your abstract to European Transport Conference 2024 in Antwerp

TPR will host in Antwerp the 52nd European Transport Conference in 2024. Let's together explore new developments, understand the challenges they pose, engage in new discussions, and formulate policy, service and infrastructure interventions. Submit your abstract by 9 February.

New TPR PhD: Han Cui

On 15 December, Han Cui succesfully defended his PhD thesis about 'Essays on competition and cooperation in the port and shipping industry'. He can now bear the title of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Antwerp - Faculty of Business and Economics. Congrats!

TPR's Xibei Jia wins GARS best paper award

TPR is delighted to share that Xibei Jia's paper, "How do airports align with sustainability? An analysis of the world’s 150 busiest airports," was honored with the Best Paper Award at the 20th GARS Junior Workshop.

TPR's Vincent Van Bockstaele wins GARS best PhD paper award

TPR is thrilled to announce that Vincent Van Bockstaele's research on "Solving the mystery of discrepancies and double counting in the air cargo through demand and supply big data analysis" was recognised with the PhD award at the 20th GARS Junior workshop.

Transport students join TPR's job carrousel

On 24 November, FBE's transport students joined TPR's annual job carrousel. Student groups join tables in turns, where a respective company representative explains and illustrates their job contents. An excellent way for students to get a good view on what working in transportation entails.

C-MAT alumni gather for the 5th time

On 22 November, we had the pleasure of reconnecting with our extraordinary alumni, for already the 5th time! Our ITMMA/C-MAT/Antwerp Management School alumni community is a supportive environment and a successful knowledge exchange platform, which can be classified as truly unique!

Maritime and logistics students visit Nike

On 15 November, FBE students maritiem en logistiek management visited Nike in Meerhout. They did a visit of Nike's large distribution center, and subsequently exchanged in groups on future logistics challenges.

Co-operation agreement Shanghai Maritime University renewed

We proudly announce that the MOU on academic cooperation between the Shanghai Maritime University and the University of Antwerp - Faculty of Business and Economics has been renewed. Many students and lecturers will be able to join further exchanges.

C-MAT students enjoy Port Economics & Business course

In the first week of their Port Economics & Business course, C-MAT students enjoyed interesting lectures and guest lectures by among others Port of Antwerps-Bruges, Port of Long Beach, DEME, as well as company visits to port of Ghent and Zuidnatie. They also played IAPH's Port Endeavour Game.

Christa Sys presented at BNP Paribas Fortis Climate event

On 23 November, BNP Paribas Fortis held a Climate event, in preparation of the COP28. CEO Michael Anseeuw stressed the importance of recognising that the sustainable solutions we need will come from all levels. One of these innovations was the subject of our first panel, to which Christa Sys participated: hydrogen.

TPR presented at European Aviation Conference

The TPR air transport team was presenting at the European Aviation Conference 2023, hosted by the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics & Supply Chain Management, sharing knowledge on the role of air cargo in future aviation policy and economics with fellow academics, policy makers and industry practitioners. The topic of the presentation was 'The increasing importance of aviation in cross-border e-commerce: a historical analysis'.
