ADS courses: opening registrations

The registrations for ADS courses in the 1st semester will open in SisA on 3 September 2024 (a.m.).

Important note: you will only be able to register for ADS courses via SisA Selfservice if you are (re-)enrolled for the academic year 2024-2025. Do not forget to confirm your privacy settings in SisA first as well (tile 'To Do')!

Deadline Educational Credit 2023-2024

The academic year is heading towards its end, so it is time to gather your receipts for your educational credit. The final day you can submit a request for reimbursement of activities during the academic year 2023-2024 will be on 31 October 2024. After the deadline closes, new submissions won’t be processed anymore. Make sure that you use the correct application form and collect the necessary documents and proofs in time. The more you deliver a complete file, the faster it will be reimbursed.

YUFE pilot on Doctoral Learning

Confidentiality of your research

Remember to think about the potential confidentiality of your doctoral research, from the start till the end of your PhD trajectory. Even if your research is not confidential to start with, things may change along the way! If your research contains confidential information, then your complete individual PhD commission (IPC) and doctoral jury should sign a declaration of confidentiality. If your research is confidential, your supervisor should indicate this to the chair of the IPC/jury, who is responsible for taking the necessary measures to maintain confidentiality.

UAntwerp researchers engage in science communication in various ways to increase awareness of their research and demonstrate its relevance. Each year the Science Communication Office hosts an inspirational event where inspiring examples of science communication are discussed, specific challenges are addressed and researchers can further train themselves via workshops.

Press>Speak>Inspire 2024 will take place on Thursday 19 September at Stadscampus C.102 in the afternoon.

Code of conduct regarding transgressive behaviour

Get to know the code of conduct regarding transgressive behaviour. This describes five ways to create a safe environment for working and studying. The code of conduct applies to all students, PhD researchers and staff of the University of Antwerp!

Extension of doctoral grant period due to COVID-19

Did you know that you can still make use of the 6-month extension for doctoral grants due to COVID-19-related delays? The possibility applies to doctoral candidates whose 48-month grant period has not expired and who faced delays between March 2020 and February 2022.

MOVE becomes SPORTSTICKER+

The MOVE sports card, the sports card for students, staff and alumni of the University of Antwerp will be called Sportsticker+ from now on. This new card provides you access to the entire sports offer, from yoga classes to basketball or swimming, at various locations in Antwerp, and brings several advantages such as easier access to facilities and is valid for the entire academic year.

Sexual Harassment Bystander Training

This training will provide you with the necessary tools to respond to and report sexually transgressive behaviour in a university context. This three-hour training developed for PhD researchers is part of the international project Uni4Equity, in which several European universities research prevention of and universities' response to online and offline sexual harassment. The training will take place on 3 October from 1 till 4 p.m. at Stadscampus S.M.106.

Vlaamse PhD Cup

Describing the core message of your years of doctoral research in an enlightening and engaging presentation lasting just three minutes. 74 PhD researchers took up the challenge and registered for the 9th edition of the Vlaamse PhD Cup, where the candidates poured their PhD research into popular science articles. The 16 finalists will be announced early September.

StatUa 2.0 Kickoff

The StatUa 2.0 Kickoff event will take place on 5 September at 4 p.m. at Stadscampus R.008, Rodestraat 14.

StatUa aims to help researchers with any statistical challenges they may encounter. Recently, StatUa has gone through some changes and we are happy to announce the kickoff of StatUa 2.0!
