TPR is excited to host the European Aviation Conference (EAC) from 27 to 29 November 2024. We invite academics, aviation practitioners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to submit their research for the EAC Research Day, scheduled for 27th November. Abstracts are due by 15 September.

European Transport Conference 2024

The European Transport Conference (ETC), hosted 18-20 September at University of Antwerp, is the annual conference of the Association for European Transport, attracting transport policy makers, practitioners and researchers from all over Europe and beyond. ETC offers in-depth presentations on policy issues, best practice and research findings across the broad spectrum of transport. ETC also provides an opportunity where delegates can enjoy networking opportunities, participate in technical visits, and explore the exhibition.

TPR contributed to the 1st REFOCUS Summer School

Hosted on Chios island by the University of the Aegean, this intensive program gathered students from around the world to explore key themes in transport, shipping, and logistics. The program titled "Future-ready transport, shipping, and logistics: Rethinking competence and skills - REFOCUS School 2024," featured engaging and interactive courses on sustainability, resilience, and equity; big data analytics and blockchain; climate-neutral and competitive waterborne transport; smart mobility services; decarbonizing transport systems; and ports in transition.

SIGA2 Maritime and Ports Conference 2025

This three-day international conference, hosted 7-9 May 2025, has a number of specific features, which make it into a laboratory for scientific developments in maritime transport and ports, useful for practice and policy:

A mix of disciplines, and academic and sector and policy contributions
No paper submission compulsory, so leaving room to researchers to further develop new ideas up to the conference
Scientific sessions combined with a port visit and Antwerp culture
Democratic registration fee of €250

The second REFOCUS summer school, hosted at Delft University of Technology, offered a comprehensive educational experience, integrating six distinct courses that collectively prepare participants for the dynamic future of these industries. Covering critical topics such as sustainability, resilience, big data analytics, climate neutrality, safety, collaboration strategies, and port innovation, this program equips attendees with the competence and skills needed for excellence in the rapidly evolving transport, shipping, and logistics sectors.

Christa Sys got appointed Grand Officer in the Order of the Belgian Crown, upon nomination by the Belgian Royal Academy of Overseas Sciences.

FBE students enjoy Nike guest lecture

TPR had the opportunity to host a guest lecture from the esteemed @Nike ELC - Customs Division in our Logistics and Distribution Management course. During the session, the Nike team provided detailed insights into the functions of our customs team, the various sub teams, their roles and their significance in the logistical movement of goods and customs processes.
